A fly went by
Have you ever caught a fly in your hand? I did last night. Quite pointless really, since the first thing I did was shriek with disgust and shake my hand vigorously to rid myself of the sensation. The fly lived to see another day.

I know someone who did that - someone who had a very gentle nature but who had an absolute hatred of flies and fleas. This someone caught a fly like you did and pulled out its wings and said to it: "fly now you bastard!" It was in Afrikaans: "Vlieg nou jou bliksem!"
